It takes a village to make a convention the size of Gen Con possible! Join the ranks of the best and become a member of the Gen Con Event Team.

You provide time, talent, and expertise in exchange for varied levels of compensation and an opportunity to meet people who share similar interests. Who knows, maybe you'll even discover a new appreciation for the show.

The Event Team roles are paid positions with benefits based on the amount of time you want to dedicate during the convention.

It is open to those at least 18 years of age. Apply as Page if you're planning on attending Gen Con, are looking to keep your time commitment short, and just want to check out behind the scenes.

For those who are interested in becoming a part of the Gen Con family, learning the in-and-outs of running a convention, and are prepared to work at least 36 hours over the course of the show, apply at the Apprentice Level of our Mentorship Program and work your way up through the ranks!

Interested in joining? Applications for the Event Team go live on January 14 at noon (Eastern) and must be completed by June 25. Go here Event Team Application to apply (Updated for 2018).

How long does it usually take for our applications to be reviewed? And when will we know if we are volunteering or not?

It all really depends on the type of Event Team Member position.

Apprentices are vetted via the phone (Unless they are returning) and then assigned much later in the process.

This year all 16 and 32 hour pages will be assigned their roles through Stafforward from a schedule Gen Con staff will provide them. The applications will be approved by us starting in February, and if you have not already filled out the employment paperwork last year you will be contacted to do that before you are assigned a position sometime in May/June after Event Registration opens.

Maybe this is an excellent time to remind people, as we have in the past, that they should never expect a response from Gen Con Staff on these forums.  We check them from time to time, and respond when possible, but if you need a response, you should email Gen Con, and if you require a time sensitive response, please call the office.  Thanks!
